In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday we read “Bartholomew and the Oobleck” and we made our own Oobleck (corn starch, water and food coloring). This worked with science for the Kindergartener and Preschooler (is it a solid or a liquid? – states of matter), but even the 3rd grader loves playing with oobleck. Who wouldn’t? A slimy, slippery substance that can feel very solid. Cool. And it’s green. Which turned the children’s hands a lovely shade. Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
